REVIEW ON ACJUVA

Acjuva is an acne treatment system that makes use of three products. The complete Acjuva package contains an Acne Cleanser (8 oz), Renewing Toner (8 oz) and a Repairing Lotion (4 oz). With these three separate products, the Acjuva system promises to provide a well-balanced approach to wiping out acne.

HOW DOES ACJUVA WORK?

1) The basic claims of Acjuva revolve around the quick removal of acne and restoration of damaged skin.

2) Next, the products will supposedly heal all existing acne (cysts and all) from the surface of the skin. Because repeated breakout is a problem for many individuals afflicted with the skin disorder, Acjuva promises to prevent future breakouts for good.

3) The third claim is that the products themselves do not contain any kind of harsh chemicals that might pose a threat to already sensitive skin. This translates logically to the use of mostly natural or botanical-based active ingredients.

4) The fourth claim is that this product will not give the user flaky or reddish skin - a problem for other products that heal the acne but irritate the skin afterward.

5) The fifth claim and perhaps most tempting reward for anyone who wishes to try such a product is the money back guarantee - something that’s quite limited for topical remedies in general.

6) After the cleansing phase, the second phase in the Acjuva system, which is carried out by the Renewing Toner is the removal of dead skin cells. From a medical standpoint, this is the exfoliation procedure, which may or may not contribute to the removal or reduction of scars as the treatment comes to an end.

7) The last phase focuses on renewing the skin that has been afflicted by the acne - through the Repairing Lotion (4 oz).

DOES ACJUVA REALLY WORK?

1) One of the things noticed about the Acjuva system is that it places too much faith in so called botanical ingredients. According to the company website, the Acjuva system does not make use of Benzoyl peroxide. The company considers the chemical “something made of two bad words”.

2) This is primarily problematic - because there have already been many medical studies that prove the effectiveness of Benzoyl peroxide in the removal of acne. The basic anatomy of acne is simple enough - you have a lot anaerobic bacteria living in spaces in the skin with little or no oxygen. Introduce oxygen through Benzoyl peroxide and you kill the bacteria - it’s that simple.

3) How does the Acjuva system take care of this problem? We noticed that one of the active ingredients used for Acjuva is tea tree oil - a traditional ingredient because of its antifungal and antibacterial potential. However, it would seem that such active ingredients come in too little doses in the products themselves. How much tea tree oil can you put in an 8 oz bottle of cleanser along with other supposedly effective anti-acne ingredients?

WHERE TO BUY ACJUVA?

The original Acjuva formulation can be purchased directly from the company website. One treatment kit (which can last for up to four months even with regular use) is being sold for just $39.95. The eight-month supply package (basically 2 kits) can be purchased for $74.95.

3 kits (can last up to a year or more) are sold for $109.95, and come with a nice microdermabrasion cloth.
