According to the MetroGel® website, the following adverse side effects have been reported after using metronidazole: stinging or burning sensation on the skin, dryness, metallic taste, tingling or numbness of the hands or feet, and nausea.
Some MetroGel® users also experienced redness or other signs of skin irritation and watering of the eyes that were not present before using the medication.
