TOMATO-BASED FACIAL CLEANSERS FOR ACNE

TOMATOES AND TOMATO-BASED FACIAL CLEANSERS FOR ACNE

A few years ago, people started using tomatoes to help ease their facial acne - and today, we have manufacturing companies introducing newer lines of tomato-based facial cleansers and cleansing systems to help alleviate the symptoms of acne vulgaris. Using the organic variety is effective, but many companies today are encouraging people to try whole systems that deal with the problems of acne, step by step.

Anti-acne systems deal with acne systematically by introducing numerous chemical agents to the human skin. Usually these agents were specifically picked to break down the hardened sebum, chip away at clogged pores and dissolve other unwanted compounds present on the skin. Eventually (or ideally), the acne yields, and begins to dissipate after a few weeks or a month.

TOMATOES FOR ACNE

Tomatoes are just one of the many organic sources that anti-acne systems tap into to make immediate progress in treating acne. Combined with antibiotics, these systems probably speed up the rate of healing by helping keep further inflammation and infection away.

“Cellular regeneration” is the keyword for many of these anti-acne systems. In medical parlance, “cellular regeneration” is a general term to connote the growth and repair of cells and tissue at a particular area. Since acne causes breaks on the surface of facial skin, cellular regeneration means these breaks would eventually heal on their own.

Now, as for the anti-acne systems, there are certain similarities with the ingredients the companies use. For example, cleansing soaps are often made with base ingredients such as lemon, and of course, tomatoes. Other ingredients include oatmeal and sometimes even grape extracts. Cleansing soaps usually aim to loosen the sebum trapped in the clogged pores.

As for the facial scrubbing involved, usually companies integrate apricot and other known exfoliating compounds into the creams. The creams themselves are smooth, because the exfoliating has to be done gently, without the use of beads and rough textures.

Now, the next important step is the peeling system used to speed up the healing of the acne. Peeling would take away the dead skin tissue, the “oil deposits” and the dirt from the surface of the skin. For many anti-acne systems, this is where it all truly begins. Compounds taken from tomatoes are intensively used to make the skin exfoliate naturally. The old skin dries up and sheds away painlessly.

Now, how do systems loosen clogged pores for more effective cleansing anyway? There are two main ways this is done: either a “catalyst” is introduced that chemically relaxes or calms the skin, or heat is applied to the affected areas through the use of steam; basically, heat. Skin naturally loosens and opens up to steam; when this happens, it would be much easier to remove the buildup from the outside.

After the cleansing is done, maintenance lotions are often applied. This is where the traditional Hydrogen peroxide and Benzoyl peroxide gets in. They are usually mixed with the lotions for their antibacterial property and for their capacity to re-introduce to the deeper parts of the skin tissue oxygen, the number one nemesis of all anaerobic bacteria.
